Chalmers Innovation was founded in 1997 through a generous donation from the Sten A Olsson foundation for reaserch and culture. The donation enabled the development of a new centre for "innovation related activities" near by Chalmers University of Technology - a Business Incubator.
Within the Incubator, we have created a modern workplace were people, ideas and companies are encouraged to grow and develop. Our office facilities are flexible and can be arranged in such a way as to meet every company's needs.
Chalmers Innovation's offer to the start-up companies involves a wide variety of competence. We are several experienced business developers, with focus on fast growing technology based start-up companies. We also offer the entrepreneurs access to a vast network of professional advisors who can support them during their development process. Apart form our assistance, we arrange seminars and other courses in order to raise the entrepreneurs competence and awareness regarding different business related issues.
The success of most technology-based start-ups depends on external financing at some point in time. Therefore, a critical success factor for Chalmers Innovation is to have good and ongoing relations with venture capitalists. By working with us, the chances for the entrepreneur to attract venture capital increases drastically.
The official inauguration of Chalmers Innovation at Stena Center was held in May 1999. In October 2000, we launched another incubator, Lindholmen Center, within the Chalmers Lindholmen Science Park.
